2. Key Technology Updates
The M5 Leap: The new M5 chip in the 14-inch model focuses heavily on AI performance, featuring a new “Neural Accelerator” in every GPU core. Apple claims it is up to 3.5x faster for AI tasks than the previous generation.
Nano-Texture Display: You can now configure the
Liquid Retina XDR display with a nano-texture finish (first seen on the Studio Display/Pro Display XDR) to significantly reduce glare without losing contrast.
SDR Brightness: The display now reaches 1000 nits for standard content (SDR) in bright outdoor light, and remains at 1600 nits peak for HDR.
Thunderbolt 5: Available on the M4 Pro and M4 Max models, this allows for much faster data transfer speeds (up to 120Gbps) and supports multiple high-resolution displays.
